Why am i thirsty while breastfeeding?

Your thirst may increase while breastfeeding due to the fact that your body requires the use of more fluid to help create breast milk. Being thirsty while breastfeeding is completely normal. Try to drink 8-10 cups of water a day; this should not hard as you have increased thirst anyway.

- Carry a water bottle with you at all times, and drink regularly.

- Have a glass of water before you begin breastfeeding.

- Have a glass of water on hand when you are breastfeeding, in case of a sudden urge or need for water.

- Avoid too many sugary drinks as they can dehydrate you.
