Why are guys squeamish with period?

Not all guys are squeamish about menstruation, at least not mature men - boys maybe.

Those who are squeamish about menstruation often take the lead from women or learn it from cultural norms, there are many negative attitudes about menstruation being shameful, embarrassing, gross, dirty, smelly, etc. so with all these sort of attitudes wouldn't you be squeamish about it too? Essentially mens attitudes towards menstruation come from the same place as women's attitudes towards menstruation: our culture and social norms.

It should be personal to the female and guys really don't want to know about it unless she isn't getting her period and could be pregnant ... then the guy is VERY interested! Periods are messy and some young women don't have the best hygiene during this time. There are some things people just don't want to know and it can be embarrassing for some guys. We all know anyone can get diarrhea, but it doesn't mean we want to talk about it.

well some girls are afraid because they think it might hurt or feel weird while tryin to apply it. Or they could possibly be afraid of Toxic shock syndrome...which is a disease that you can get from wearing them. Some girls might also be afraid of not being able to get it out or putting it up too far...or they could just be afraid that it might leak on them. Many girls are afraid of tampons because a) They think it looks like a penis, and b) They don't know that YOU CAN'T LOSE YOUR VIRGINITY TO A TAMPON!

Because it's not very comfortable and if you think about it to bleed for 7 days and potentially smell and be conscious of leaking and not being able to take part I. Activities is not that much fun
