You either have borderline personality disorder or you don't - it does not "activate" only at certain times.There is no such thing as a borderline bipolar - they are two different mental illnesses.I would advise this woman to seek a good therapist who can help her figure out what exactly is going on during these relationships.
Yes. Why wouldn't they be able to? Just because you have Bipolar Disorder doesn't meant that you're unfit to raise a child. I know this from experience, because I'm Bipolar, and I have 2 children.
