Its because you swallow air and the nerves, senses, and muscles want to push it out. So they PUSH on the sides of your stomach and the air comes back up your throat./ Therefore this makes a funny sound when te air is travelling up your throat and that funny noise is a hiccup. This is natural and if you hiccup it doesn't stop for a while it does NOT mean you are sick or ill. Do not consider this as an illnes.
