We "sweat" from everywhere on our bodies. The armpits are where the arms rest upon the torso. This is different from every other part of the body. Heat is more readily "trapped" here. This results in a higher temperature and increased moisture. Therefore the armpits create the perfect condition for the growth of the bacteria that covers our skin but needs the "right" conditions to multiply. We have sweat glands in many places, the armpit is but one of them.
