I'm not going to be scientific here but what happens is an egg in one of your two ovaries (where eggs are kept) travels along the tube to where the baby is supposed to develop. Where the baby is suppose to develop walls are produced to help the baby grow and to protect it. But if the egg isn't fertilized by sperm during sex, the walls crumble into which looks like blood, and comes out of the vagina. This happens every month, from when you start during puberty (in your teens) till when you stop at an older age.
