I had lemon cravings as well for quite a while and went from a situation where I could barely stand a few drops of lemon juice in my tea to drinking the juice of 1-2 lemons on an empty stomach every morning - plus many others during the day. I read somewhere that lemon cravings are an indication of a lack of lithium in the body. Coincidentally, at the time of my cravings I had my urine tested and the lithium levels appeared to be lower than normal (although I had no symptoms of depression or biploar disease).
I am now craving fresh figs and have still to find out why. I believe that specific cravings are an indication that your body needs something. I also believe that there are many nutrients in each fresh raw food that have not even been discovered. I also read that raw figs are good for the pancreas. I believe that if the food is raw and healthy, there should not be any reason why not to consume it in the quanttities the body is asking for.
