Well my beagle had the same problem. I talked to the vet and she said that it is actually called a reverse sneeze. It is common and harmless. I would rub my dog's throat and that seemed to help stop it.
Salt doesn't make you sneeze because, well basicly its salt. but pepper does make you sneeze. hope this helps:)
where food is and how far away it is as well as where they are themselves

Well, if you sneeze your dusting off your brain! Well, that's what my grandma says but my doctor says that your insides blow up! but it's nothing to worry bout if you do it once a year!
Dogs sneeze because there is irritation inside their nasal cavity and they are trying to clear out the irritation. If your dog sneezes on rare occasions this is normal and doesn't need a veterinarian's examination. However, if your dog is blowing out snot or blood, appears otherwise sick (not eating well, vomiting or diarrhea, coughing, laying around and not playing, etc), this would be a good reason to take your dog to a veterinarian.
It is unlikely to break a rib solely from sneezing. However, if you have a pre-existing rib injury or condition, a forceful sneeze can potentially exacerbate the problem and cause further pain or discomfort.

Washing your hands well and frequently when handling food. Buy food from a store you trust, rinse everything well, and cook completely. Stay away from food others will come into contact with if you have a food borne illness.
