Well there's HIV then there's AIDS. HIV usually can take years to turn into aids and some people live with it for years before knowing they have it. Then there's aids, which can't kill you. What it does is it attacks your white blood cells, and destroys them making it impossible for your body to fight off diseases. The rate depends entirely on what shape your body is in, if you have a good immune system and are in good shape you'll most likely live longer then someone who is obese and old, and if you are in an area of great risk for dangerous diseases.
No, aids can only be passed on through body fluids. IE Sperm, Saliva and also blood. How ever, to get aids from saliva you have to drink at least 9 litres of it so kissing is fine. So if your partner does not have aids you will not get it from that partner.
You prevent aids by not getting infected by HIV. HIV is spread through body fluids. Avoiding sexual contact and contact with blood through sharing needles and transfusions can go a long way toward preventing it.
HIV/ AIDS is only spread by sexual contact without safe sex or by blood contact. The virus can't spread by blood sucking animals. e.g. Leaches, ticks and so on.
HIV is an infection that LEADS to AIDS. So, most likely, people with HIV are very likely to get AIDS.
Aids ruin your immune sytem and kill you, HIV is the beginning of aids, but doesnt mean you have AIDS
nobody know ed what for a illness it is and nobody know how to prevent this illness.
HIV+ but I don't see how that can happen...
AIDS is what you get when you have the HIV virus, its the next stage of the virus and that will kill you so once you get AIDS that's it, there is no cure and no treatment for AIDS. There is treatment for HIV and Magic Johnson is the first person that i have ever heard of that announced that he had the HIV virus 15 years ago and never got AIDS but he took these drugs and it stopped him from getting AIDS but he will always have the HIV virus.
If neither person has HIV then neither will get it from each other. HIV can only survive in the human body (it dies quickly outside it) so if neither person has HIV it will not suddenly appear. There must be someone who has HIV for it be spread in the first place.
HIV- Human Immunodeficiency Virus *HIV is not a pathogenic organism, but a virus. To be an organism it must be able to replicate on its own, which it cannot. It needs a host to do so.
HIV is the virus. AIDS is the disease caused by the virus. (So HIV is not actually a disease per se.) As an analogue - the H1N1 virus can cause the flu.
Magic Johnson announced in 1991 that he was HIV-positive. How he's survived 18 years with HIV is a mystery to basically everyone. I seriously wonder if he was misdiagnosed, because most people who contract HIV die of AIDS within 2 years or so, tops.
