It all depends. Some sore throats are due to having your mouth open for so long and having it dry out. That will usually go away within 24 to 48 hours.

You also may get a sore throat because your resistance may be down. That's one reason for you to take it easy for the next few days especially after having extractions.

Can you have a wisdom tooth removed without having stitches?

I have had all my wisdom teeth removed and have never had stitches (Sweden). They were all removed in the same way by different dentists. Local anaesthetic followed by brute force pulling (sounds alot worse than it is). The "opening" left behind heals itself fairly easy. Just had a compressor against it for a few hours for some residual bleeding. Pulling a tooth is not much worse than any other treatment, however the healthier and the more visible the wisdom tooth is, the easier the pull will be.

Is it possible to get braces on a wisdom tooth and a second molar only to close a space where a first molar was removed?

I'm a bit surprised at your question. I can't believe any orthodontist would put braces on a wisdom tooth. Unless you're asking because you want to have this done. Secondly, closing the space that a lost tooth has caused is asking a lot. Having a tooth removed will most likely throw off the alignment of all of your teeth. I'm not a dentist but it sounds like you need a crown or a post where the missing tooth was (or will be).

Must you have your wisdom tooth removed?

Normally, there is not enough room in your mouth for the wisdom teeth to come in. If you've lost some back teeth for one reason or another, the wisdon tooth can come in with no problem.

If a dentist recommends that you remove your second molar tooth instead of your wisdom tooth is that a bad choice if the second molar is in very bad condition?

I'd follow the advice of the dentist, since the wisdom tooth can move forward after the second molar is removed.
