Symptoms of a dry cough include a persistent cough that does not produce mucus or phlegm, irritation or tickling in the throat, and a hoarse or sore throat. Other possible symptoms may include a scratchy sensation in the throat, difficulty breathing, and a worsening cough at night.
Cillia are small hairs that have the function of "sweeping" tubes in our bodies. The cillia in our lungs sweep dust and other impurities towards our throat. Usually at night and in our sleep we cough or clear our throat and swallow this mucous. Yuk, but keeps our lungs clean.
When you go through periods of not smoking, like when you're sleeping at night, your damaged cilia can't move the phlegm up to your throat where you can swallow it. Smoking does cause extra mucus to develop in order to get foreign toxins out of your lungs this makes you cough.
If this happens in the morning, it could be that in the night your nose starts to bleed a little and has trickled into your throat. Therefore when you cough blood also comes up.
sometimes you sleep with your mouth open, and you breathe alot all night so your throught is kinda raw.learn to spell throat.
Night of the Swallow was created in 1981.
That doesn't really happen but I would say because ur lying in bed with ur mouth open inhaling so ur throat gets dry. it does happen cause i have one right now and have had one for 3 days, its gone by morning and comes back when the sun goes down. it hurts so bad i cant talk or swallow.
Could be you were snoring and it is a sign of dryness and irritation or could be caused from a post nasal drip. Maybe you went to a concert the night before and sang your little heart out and now your throat is upset for all the "singing".
If you have a persistent cough that only happens or starts at night, it is called a nocturnal cough. This type of cough is usually non-productive.
Cough syrup, or, try a teaspoon of Honey mixed with hot water, it is nice and it helps.
We were up all night with a baby who has the whooping cough.
