tetanus shots are painful because you are putting iron into your body and your blood has to regulate and accept it.

I prefer the tdap shot because it actually has tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis vaccines all in one shot. It feels like a regular shot. You can't even tell that tetanus is in it!

Got that shot today! Hope I helped.

I received the t-dap and found it to be more painful than the regular tetanus. I still have a lump and soreness two and a half weeks out

What if your child is five she has a cut she had a tetanus at three months old is she still covered?

She should get another tetanus booster just to be safe. Tetanus shots are usually good for about five years, so she might be due for her booster if she's reaching five years and three months. It also wouldn't hurt her to get a booster shot early. I've sometimes gotten a new tetanus shot after only three years depending on my health insurance situation. If cost is a concern, you should ask a doctor or nurse if she can wait a little longer. Tetanus is fatal and horribly painful, so it's not something you want to take unnecessary chances with.
