Eating disorders can cause many mental and physical problems. A hospital can help to treat, correct, and prevent both of these types of probelms from happening again and help the person get better through therapy and treatments.
Hospitalization would be recommended for anyone whose mental disorder is so severe that the person in question is dangerous to himself or others.

The problem is most people in western society has disordered eating....it can be considered disordered when the person is constantly dieting ("Yo Yo dieting") or just plain isn't eating healthy..which is everyone.....I don't like to use "Disorder Eating" when talking about Eating Disorders....they are different..Disordered Eating isn't severe and doesnt usually require professional help whereas Eating Disorders are serious deadly addictions that require years of professional help...the problem with disordered eating is it can easily become an Eating Disorder

Family and friends (all relationships, really) play a large role in a person's eating disroder. It can cause an eating disorder or cause it to be worse, but, on the other hand, support can help a person with an eating disroder to recover.
