I done a case study on this in school and I got 24/24 marks that's a straight A* so believe me I know what Im talking about. Basicly in this case study I looked as loads of data and studies about it. And the largest study of 420,000 people tested for this was a Danish study this said there was no link. But I would support precotionary principle cause some of the other tests though smaller come up with some very affective evidence. So I would use your phone less and text more, don't put your phone in your pocket but a bag, and mainly if you are under the age of 10 do not use a phone as the tissue to the brain is thiner and it is easyier to get heat radiation which if the tests are right will give you brain tumours. Also don't use a phone when pregant or near a baby. Hope this helps xx
I assume you mean what are the side effects? Even in the best cancer cases where the cancer responds excellently to radiation therapy, there is still the fact that radiation was used; the rediation can and will affect surrounding tissues. Such as the testicles where radiation will likely cause infertility. In some rare cases, the radiation can even cause a cancer of it's own in the surrounding tissues such as the intestines. However, having said that, not getting radiation to destroy a present cancer for fear of a different cancer years down the road would be unwise. If the doctors say to get radiation now to save your life. Do it.
"No, radiation therapy is only used to treat people who have cancer. The radiation part of this kind of therapy is there to destroy off cancer cells. If someone used radiation therapy or anything else it would make them very ill, and more than likely be fatal to them since they would not have cancer, the radiation would get rid of their good healthy cells."
Prolonged exposure to UV radiation can cause skin cancer.
Radiation of any type speeds up the growth rate of cells and in high doses can cause burns. The ever-so-common sunburn is actually a radiation burn because the sun gives off radiation. This is also why people who stay out in the sun without proper protection from it are more likely to get skin cancer. This is because skin cancer is the rapid and uncontrolled growth of cells.
Radiation is an main cause
Lung cancer can be treated in any of at least three ways. That includes radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgery. Surgery would not cause hair loss.
No, these devices do not cause cancer or they would not be used in hospitals. They can detect cancer and are also used on pregnancy so they do not cause cancer!
Beta radiation isn't used for cancer inside the body because it doesn't have the penetrative ability of Gamma radiation. Gamma cannot be used for skin cancer because it would kill too many healthy cells.
Radiation will always harm people no matter where they are, as it causes cancer.
Because it is high powered, it gives out radiation, which is what they use to treat cancer. it wouldn't be as effective as Chemotherapy as this uses high radiation to almost burn the cancer, but it would at least keep it at bay for a bit?
Although the benefits may out way the risks, there are many risks associated with radiation treatment for breast cancer. These risks include sore breasts, feeling tired, and lymphedema as a possible long term effect.
It depends on the type of cancer, location of cancer and delivery system of the radiation. For example a metastatic lesion to the brain would receive 30 to 35 gray. Lung cancer treatment for cure would be around 50 gray. Prostate cancer 70-80 gray.
