First question is why would you repeated kiss a toddler on the mouth? I think regardless of whether it agitates the toddler's cold sore, you should stop kissing it on the mouth. It seems to be an East European thing - no offense to anyone here. The mother who has been plagued by severe cold sores all her life, expresses her "love" that way. I told her once how sad it was that parents give the herpex simplex virus to their children at all but she still believes that cold sores live dormantly in anyones body. Yeah, right.... Either way, her 3-year-old son developed almost permanent sores ALL OVER his upper lip so I assume that it is not true that you can only get infected once and then develop your own pattern of outbreaks. By the way, her son expresses his love for good buddies the same way. I had to prevent him from kissing my toddler and myself and eventually just avoided play dates. I know this sounds antisocial. I even made sure that there is NEVER any saliva transmission between my son and myself to avoid the spread of bacteria that causes tooth decay (strep mutans). Sorry, this is lengthy - but I just had to share my phobia...
No. Kissing is mostly NOT romantic. Kissing can be a greeting, or an expression of fondness for a sister, mother, father, brother, and so forth.
Epstein-Barr virus is spread through contact with infected saliva, such as through kissing, sharing drinks or utensils, or coughing. It can also be transmitted through blood transfusions and organ transplants, as well as from mother to child during childbirth.
It might be a good indication that you are overstepping your boundaries and not giving your mother the space she needs.
Certain types of fish look as if they are kissing as they move through the water. If a fish was up against a wall, it might appear to be kissing that wall. The dream could indicate a limit to forward movement. Something your mother is doing or working on has run up against a barrier and cannot progress any further.

HIV can be transmitted from mother to child. It can also be trasmitted through sexual contact or shared needles. Just huggibg or kissing someone with HIV will not give you it. AIDS is an advanced stage of HIV.
For some mothers, the love for their children is unconditional. This is based upon instinct, and one could argue that the love coincides with instinct. However, you have mother's that leave their newborns in trash cans, abuse their toddlers, beat their teenagers and show no affection either through words or actions toward their children.
In most cases, babies, toddlers, young children, spend their most informative and developing years in close company with their mother. Such emotion, usually, forms a bond between a mother and an adult child, that never ceases.
I know of no empirical evidence to support that. It sounds like some kind of propaganda from a mother-in-law...
