The facts and fiction re: alcohol based hand sanitizers. Unless the manufacturer is providing an independent lab test re: the two most common strains of norovirus (feline and murene), you should remain skeptical i.e. the kill claims. Murene strain is extraordinarily difficult to conduct tests for, and very very few manufacturers of hand sanitizers have been able to demonstrate that 62% alcohol could possibly be effective against Norovirus. Alcohol does not penetrate dirty hands. Alcohol evaporates in high temperatures. Alcohol breaks up when stored in high temperatures (which would suggest that it is rendered ineffective). There is a new product on the market, alcohol-free that comes with third party test results i.e. both strains of norovirus. Its very expensive--3x-4x any other hand sanitizer--but the financial cost of a norovirus outbreak on a cruise ship or a hotel is hundreds of thousands of dollars per day. Will hand sanitizers actually prevent a norovirus outbreak? That remains to be seen. Can hand sanitizers mitigate the spread of norovirus? Yes.

Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer is effective against many viruses, particularly enveloped viruses like the flu and coronaviruses, when it contains at least 60% alcohol. However, it does not kill all viruses, particularly non-enveloped viruses like norovirus and some strains of adenovirus, which are more resistant to alcohol-based sanitizers. Additionally, hand sanitizer may not eliminate all types of germs, especially if hands are visibly dirty or greasy. For comprehensive protection, washing hands with soap and water is recommended.
It seems they can get you sick but not kill you
Germ-X is a hand sanitizer that contains ethyl alcohol, which is safe for external use on the skin to kill germs. However, ingesting hand sanitizer can be harmful and even life-threatening due to its high alcohol content. It is important to keep hand sanitizers out of reach of children and to use them as directed for external use only.
Hand sanitizer is stronger than soap. It is stronger because it contains chemicals that kill pathogens.
From what I've heard and from what has been been said recently, there is an ingredient in hand sanitizer that makes males sterile. Hand sanitizer is known to kill bacteria but what is in the sanitizer gets absorbed into the body, which is what causes men to become sterile.
Klenza is India's first alcohol free hand sanitizer. It uses a silver and water-based foam technology. It is a completely non-toxic hand sanitizer, gentle and safe for kids. Klenza hand sanitizer protects from germs 3 hours after its use.
It is possible to harm a plant by applying hand sanitizer to its leaves or roots, as the alcohol in the sanitizer can dehydrate and damage plant tissues. However, killing the plant would likely require repeated or excessive applications. It's generally best to avoid using hand sanitizer on plants.
