If they test for it, yes. The military doesn't usually test for steroids, but they CAN. One reason why is steroid testing is very expensive--hundreds of dollars per test--and most troops don't use steroids. They'd test a soldier who showed "obvious signs" of steroid use, which usually means the troop got really big faster than he should have. They also test soldiers who are in honor guard units, because looking buff is important there and honor guard soldiers have been known to take steroids. Oh, and there's a military bodybuilding competition; they test everyone who enters it.

The Department of Defense labs aren't certified for steroids. They send those samples to the US Olympic Committee's lab in Colorado Springs, which is certified for every drug banned by any sport.
