Would a week after having unprotected sex be too early to take a pregnancy test?

Buy a two pack test. I always buy a store brand. They are much cheaper and work just as well. Take one test now. If you get negative or confusing results, take another a day or two after you are supposed to start your period. Then you should get a correct answer. It may be too early. It depends on the test and how much of the pregnancy hormone you are producing right now.

no it is not too early to take a blood test. Pregnant is pregnant As you ovulate 2 weeks before a period, AND you have to have the egg fertilised, AND it takes 6-10 days for the fertilised egg to implant there is no way a blood test is going to tell you if you are pregnant or not. Pregnant is pregnant only with hindsight.

You are unlikely to conceive a week before your period, most women ovulate two weeks before their period. However if you have missed a period you may be pregnant, especially if you have other signs too. You can take a pregnancy test the day that your period is due, the majority of tests are over 99% accurate but if you're unsure wait at least 3 more days before taking another one and if you're still unsure see your physician/GP as they can take a blood test. Yes. About 10 days after the missed period wold be the time to get a pregnancy test. There are some earlier tests. The latest tests can show if you are pregnant about 4 days before a missed period, but the period may still come, so better to wait until after especially if you DO want to be pregnant. If you DON'T want to be pregnant do an early test as the sooner you know the better.

Yes. I believe 7 days before your period is due is too soon to get a positive result. Until the hormones in your urine reach detectable levels the test will continue to be negative, even if you are pregnant. I would suggest waiting 2 weeks, until your period is about 7 days late before testing. If that test is negative wait one more week and try again.
