Depending on your age which you did not mention.

If you are younger then 60 years old I would have to say Sleep Apnea maybe?

Have you been checked for this?

There are many things this could actually be.

This could be also fibromaylgia with the uncomfortableness in bed.

This could be restless leg syndrome that you are always moving. Or some sort of restless syndrome that you are just not settled.

Are you drinking a lot of caffeine before bed? Are you eating a lot of chocolate before bed? This will keep you going and will keep your anxiety up and running constantly and hence getting to sleep is not an option!

If you are OVER 60 years old this could be a sign of COPD.

Which is a breathing disease, but it also affects walking and any activity as well, with getting air.

If I were you and IF you don't have insurance I would try to see if in your state you have walk in cares or clinics that would not charge you enormous amounts that maybe can work with you on a sliding scale with income or something as I don't know what state you are in and if you have these services.

Either way I am no doctor and this is what you should see. Is a doctor. It sounds like you may have some complicated issues not just one and need medications and/or advice and further testing.

If you are into herbs also you can see an herbalist about this situation and they do have herbs out there that can help you with these symptoms as well.. but may I caution you that if you are currently under a doctor's care to check with that doctor before you do get on herbs because though herbs are good they are not for some medications and some ailments that you may have!

It's fine to breathe through mouth while sleeping. It just depends on the person. For example, me, when I was of a younger age I choked in my sleep because of my tonsils. But people with regular tonsils shouldn't have any problem. Anyway, if you have problems with sleeping like that than go visit your doctor because on my opinion it's something we should all be able to do safely.
