You can tell with X-rays, but it's really not worth it. The treatment is much the same- cooling, rest and elevation. A hairline fracture doesn't normally require a cast, so just be prudent in your activities for six to eight weeks.
THe wrist may be swollen and tender and it may hurt when the wrist is moved or has to bear weight. Sometimes the wrist can look a bit out of shape. If you do suspect a fracture, get to the hospital as soon as possible.

That depends on the type of fracture. You can still move your thumb, if there is crack fracture. It will be painful affair. When there is complete fracture, the distal fragment can move, as the muscles are still contract. This is again very painful.

You can tell if somethings broken with out medical assistance if something is bruesed really badly,if you cant touch the bruise because it hurts too much, and when you break it if you dont know you can probibly hear a cracking sound... So hopefully you dont break your arm...goodluck !!! :-]
Sometimes you can't tell if it is in the foot, but you probably wouldn't be able to move the hurt area if it was broken, but check with your doctor just to make sureit hurtswe feel a lot of painyou would probably hear a * crack * and you wouldnt be able to move it it would be dangling if it was like a hand you cant move it.
