I get the sharp stabbing pains you are talking about all the time. As I've grown older, the pains have gotten much worse and much more often. If your pain is in one spot that you can point to the exact spot of discomfort each time, it's probly Precordial Catch Syndrome. I have had to research the cause of this pain myself because not many doctors know what it is. It's not very well-studied because of short time the pain lasts, how the pain comes at an unpredictable time, and how you are totally fine afterwards. Precordial Catch Syndrome (aka Texidor's Twinge) is thought to be as simple as having pinched nerves or something. The pain is relieved by waiting it out, taking deeper, slower, or shorter breaths, or changing your position. I have to just wait out my pain since it's so bad at times that nothing seems to help. The pain is most common on the left side of your chest under your nipple, but it can come up in different areas of your chest. With me, the pain comes up in the middle, left side, right side, near my neck, under my arm.......all over lol. But it only comes up in one spot each time.
