You just might have a boil forming up. :( Careful puncture of ALL the pus-heads and *clean* drainage of the underlying cavities can help. :) A hot wet washcloth held onto the affected area for half an hour to an hour may speed the formation "coming to a head" and becoming entirely drainable at one sitting.

One so afflicted might want (ie NEEDS) to have CLEAN water AND some antibacterial soap for the general area. Some antibacterial gel (Silver Chloride Gel might be best) on hand before the opening-up. ;)

Wash first, then carefully puncture and GENTLY squeeze out the pustular content until the color changes from yellow-white to red (blood) or clear (blood serum). Dispose of all expelled material by dabbing-up into CLEAN absorbent material. Remove it with sopping-up and and not with wiping. Discard the contaminated absorbent material immediately on completion. Might want to sacrifice that washcloth as well. At the very least, please boil the thing for ten minutes before using it again on any other part of your body.

At all times, and by all means, DO avoid causing a new infection in the neighboring region. (No telling what the actual bacterium is, but staph in particular can morph to eat flesh and defy antibiotic treatment entirely. This MRSA "Superbug" is no fun at all, and must be handled with great aseptic care to avoid immediate harmful consequences.)

More soap and water after drainage, with Silver Chloride gel as wound dressing. (Kills germs on contact, including MRSA. Does not sting or stain, unlike Petrolatum-based compounds.)

The drained area may then exhibit a necrotic core of dead tissue from the internal space "in between" the original pus-head cavities under the skin. This dreck *MUST* be entirely removed from the drainage site to avoid drawn-out "Old Juicer" behavior on the part of the wound. NO wound can heal with Dead Stuff of any kind still enveloped in its depths, y'see.

20% Lidocaine or Benzocaine "Boil Cream" may help ease the incidental pain of the necessary cleaning-out treatment. Check the First Aid aisle of your local corporate pharmacy-chain store while seeking Silver Chloride Gel there.

Dress with a loose bandage. Clean the wound site and and change bandage often, until drainage diminishes and healing is well established.

As with all other advice concerning your health, shop for your self-care advice with due care and diligence. By so doing, you will be doing what many licensed MDs in the current US Health Care Environment can or will not do for you these system-fractured days.

Best of success. This aspect of mammalian physiology is not Transnuclear Boson Physics by a long shot. Study up on how a veterinarian treats the same condition in livestock if you, too, wish to recover at minimum cost. Any decent livestock farmer dearly and reliably wants that much for every afflicted member of their own for-slaughter herd - you deserve at least that much care, yourself, no matter who (or how ill-funded/insured) you may be.
