The core of a narcissist is this....they are NOT able to put themselves in anyone's shoes. That takes empathy, which they lack. They don't ever see how what they do is wrong or bad, so they can't understand why the family wouldn't accept them with open arms. They see NOTHING wrong in their actions. After all, in the narcissist's eyes, it is the victim's fault. She is to blame, and the family must see it too. They will try to convince the family they were acting only on her behalf or that she must suffer a mental illness. Believe me, they are completely incapable of grasping this. They come back because they are incapable of taking into consideration how the victims family may feel. They are incapable of taking anything into consideration except themselves.

What is the first consideration in any rescue?

The first consideration if there are multiple victims should be the extent of any injuries and which victim needs attention the quickest - it usually isn't the one making the most noise! If there is only one victim to rescue then the first consideration should be your safety. Do not approach the victim until you have assessed whether they are a risk to you

Why do narcissists just suddenly change to a person you never knew?

Generally, the narcissistic was putting on a show in the first place. The person they appeared to be did not exist in reality. You got fooled. Narcissists are very skilled in role playing in order to attract victims into their inner circle. They create a fictional, wonderful, funny, kind, happy, helpful, caring self to lure you in. Eventually, their real self emerges and when that happens you need to accept reality, make your escape and move on.Generally, the narcissistic was putting on a show in the first place. Are Narcissists secretive and get pleasure from giving information that appears true though incomplete?

You bet they do and it's called "pushing your buttons!" They torture their victims and believe they are far more intelligent than most. Big mistake! Don't play the game and ignore them. If you were to reverse the psychology of them they would burst at the seams and could possibly become abusive to get the truth out of you. Narcissists NEVER play second-fiddle to anyone!
