Move away from anything you could use to hurt yourself, if you can do so safely.

If you are a minor, tell a trusted adult. While we have all heard this before, it is really the best way to get help. There are medications and therapists devoting there lives to helping people see through the haze of depression. Seek help, things will get better.

If you are an adult, schedule an appointment with a therapist and they will guide you through this tough time. If you have a plan on how you will commit suicide, voluntarily admit yourself to a behavioral health center, it literally can save your life.

A little more...Most people who want to kill themselves, when you ask them about it, express a sense of disconnection -- a removal from what they seem to perceive as normal or good. This may of course be mixed with other concerns: anger, fear, shame... These however can be harder to fix.

I think one way to handle wanting to kill yourself is to reach out and get a dialogue started with someone about this. A therapist perhaps, but even a friend or a total stranger is better than keeping silent.
