It is a surgical procedure for removal of surperficial varicose veins.
Ambulatory phlebectomy is the most common surgical procedure for treating medium-sized varicose veins, as of early 2003. It is also known as stab avulsion or micro-extraction phlebectomy.
A newer technique that avoids the drawbacks of stab avulsion phlebectomy, which include long operating times, the risk of scar formation, and a relatively high risk of infection developing in the micro-incisions.
In the term "phlebectomy," the primary accent is on the second syllable: "bek." This means the pronunciation emphasizes that part of the word, making it sound like "fluh-BEK-tuh-mee." The stress pattern helps distinguish this medical term in spoken language.

Presumably you mean post saphenous avulsion phlebectomy or ablation by laser. The latter is not usually, I think, painful. If the veins are actually removed (phlebectomy) and not just destroyed by heat, there will be two post-operative sources of pain, starting about a week after the op, which is not usually at all painful. First, irritation from the multiple scalpel stabs, which is minor and needs no treatment except watching for bleeding. Second, more or less severe bruising of the leg, from calf to hip if the greater saphenous vein has been removed. This lasts a few weeks, and doesn't need anything done; Panadol and massage with soothing creams, exercise, and patience, at most. If you have pain of a different kind, such as muscle cramps (best treated with warmth and massage), consult your surgeon. Walk if you can, reasonable and slowly increasing distances. Although modern methods are far in advance of Walter Ryff's in 1545, the hook used is very similar, I believe. In general, an op. well worth having, and with usually a good prognosis, for such conditions as incompetant valves and/or venous insufficiency.
An osteotomy is a surgical operation whereby a bone is cut to shorten, lengthen, or change its alignment. It is sometimes performed to correct a hallux valgus, or to straighten a bone that has healed crookedly following a fracture. It is also used to correct a coxa vara, genu valgum, and genu varum. The operation is done under a general anaesthetic.Osteotomy is one method to relieve pain in arthritis, especially of the hip and knee. It is being replaced by joint replacement in the older patient.Due to the serious nature of this procedure, recovery may be extensive. Careful consultation with a physician is important in order to ensure proper planning during a recovery phase. Tools exist to assist recovering patients who may have non weight bearing requirements and include bedpans, dressing sticks, long-handled shoe-horns, grabbers/reachers and specialized walkers and
Surgical repair of a valve is normally just referred to as Heart Valve Surgey, although its technical name is valvoplasty or valvuloplasty. There are many ways to repair a heart valve. They can go in through the groin and blow the valve up with a balloon, or repair a torn part of the valve. They can also do open heart surgery and replace a valve completely (usually with a pig valve or a metal valve).
Whether you suffer from varicose veins, spider veins, or other kinds of vein problems, you will want to know about the kind of vein treatment that will work for you. The first stop for this information is your own doctor. He may recommend you to a vein treatment center where there are specialists trained and dedicated to the treatment of vein problems. This is probably the best idea because nothing else is done at these centers. They only focus on the vein. Vein problems are caused by several things. Many people have said that their varicose veins or spider veins have started from jobs that keep them standing all day. This is especially worse if they are standing on cement. This type of activity causes the vein valves to stop the blood from flowing the way it is supposed to flow, and it begins to pool in one place. That is what varicose veins are. The pooling begins to protrude through the skin and cause a rope-like appearance. Vein problems can also be hereditary. Aging is also a cause in addition to obesity. Spider veins are dilated capillary veins right below the skin’s surface. They can be blue, red, purple or all of these colors that form in a web-like shape. The appearance of these veins is not the only reason to get vein treatment. These veins can also cause heaviness, cramps, achiness, swelling and throbbing. If the varicose veins progress and become worse without treatment, there could be pigmentation, bleeding, ulceration, ankle swelling and the more serious chronic venous insufficiency, CVI. Getting early vein treatment will prevent this from happening. There are several vein treatments depending on the severity of the problem. One treatment is wearing compression stockings. Exercise is also a good treatment. It’s better than just sitting or standing all day. These treatments will not cure the problem, but it will slow or stop it, and will eliminate some of the discomfort caused by the vein problem. A very effective treatment is to collapse the veins. This is done by a procedure called sclerotherapy. Laser therapy can also be used, ambulatory surgery, mini-phlebectomy and endolaser. There are so many ways to receive vein treatment, and it is best to get it before the problem gets much worse.
