Professional boundaries are important to create when you have a working relationship with a patient. You need to separate yourself from your work and home life. There may be times when the patient may overstep the professional boundaries, but when they are sick and injured, they may not be thinking straight, and sometimes when this occurs, they expect the nursing staff, and other staff to continue the professionalism, and the doctor as well.
