I don't know that the "average" cost is. But about 2 weeks ago I was in a bicycle accident where I woke up in the back of an ambulance with a concusion, heading to the hospital. They ran a CT scan and did blood work to check to make sure I was hydrated, electrolyte levels etc. I was under close watch for a few hours under some kind of brain injury protocol, to make sure my injury want severe. Then they took me off of close watch after a few hours when they realized there was nothing wrong with me, but kept me overnight with an iv drip to keep me hydrated. I was release after about 24 hours in the hospital. I don't have insurance.
