This question isn't very clear but if you mean will it make it better than it was before you got osteochondritis dissecans then no, it wont, I had surgery for it 5 years ago ( I'm 16 ), it hasn't caused me much trouble, though in bad weather my ankle swells up so i tend not to be able to walk on it and i can be painful but there is definitely a big improvement from before the op.
I've just had an operation on my ankle it feels exactly the same as before, I am still is a lot of pain and its been about 6/8 months after the op!
No, I advise you not to as I've just had an operation on my talus(ankle) and have got osteochondritis dissecans and even before that i wasn't aloud to do any physical activity. Swimming is ok but just be careful when walking if you have it in your knee or ankle as it could cause more damage.
Only orthopaedic surgeons do ankle surgery
Tiny ossific fragments projecting inferior to the medial malleolus are often indicative of an avulsion fracture, which occurs when a small piece of bone is pulled away by a tendon or ligament. These fragments can result from injury or stress to the ankle, particularly in the context of ankle sprains or instability. They may also be associated with conditions like osteochondritis dissecans or chronic ligamentous injuries. Diagnosis typically involves imaging studies such as X-rays or MRI to assess the extent of the injury and guide treatment.
Yes. You can get an ankle replacement surgery.
If the injury was mild and the surgery successful, with proper physical therapy on a health patient, the ankle should be just about as good as new. Depending on the outcome of the surgery and other factors, the ankle's newness will vary.
The medical term for a broken ankle is "ankle fracture". This occurs when one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint are broken. Treatment usually involves immobilization, rest, and sometimes surgery.
Depends how severe the sprained ankle is. If ligaments are torn and joint unstable it may require surgery
A LOT OF MONEY!!!! A LOT OF MONEY!!!!
I had an ankle fusion three years ago and still in pain.
The leg and ankle may have slight swelling from arthoscopic surgery after 4 weeks. A doctor should be consulted after surgery to make sure things are healing correctly.
Arthroscopic
You don't want to fly too soon after any surgery, especially if you are taking pain medication, as it can make you feel ill. However, you can fly once you are no longer hospitalized after ankle surgery; request a wheelchair from your airline.
