Azithromycin will begin to work within 3 days of obtaining the prescription. It may upset your stomach however, so always be sure to take antibiotics with some crackers or yogurt and always have a full glass of water when you take them.
If possible, keep refilling your glass for two hours while the medication is digested and absorbed into your system.

It takes roughly about 30 min. I just took the first course of a 5 day pack, which is 2 pills (for a vaginal bacterial infection). I threw up 2 hours after I took them & then started freaking out. I called the pharmacist and she said I should be fine as long as I didn't throw up in the first hour. I probably lost some of the effects of the drug but should continue using the rest of the pills and not worry about this mishap. Hope this helps.
