Pristiq, which contains desvenlafaxine, is an antidepressant that affects the serotonin levels in the brain. Lexapro, being an SSRI, also affects your serotonin levels.
You should consult with a medical professional before you attempt to take these drugs at the same time.
yes
can melatonin and pristiq b taken togather
can you take pristiq and paxil together
Yes of course, i am on 15mg lexapro and 15mg mirt going up to 30mg next week Lexapro is an ssri while mirt is NaSSA Anti Depressent
no, very dangerous, great risk of heart attack
I have taken them together and survived. 20 mg Lexapro with 5 mg Vicodin and 3 pints of beer. My doctor said the Lexapro and Vicodin are ok together as long as it is supervised and within the recommended dosage. The beer, probably not ok.
I take both Lamictal and Pristiq together and haven't noticed any side-effects.
You can, however it is not recommended. Pristiq is an inhibitor and prevents the Buprenorphine (active ingredient in Suboxone) from working as well as it should. Buprenorphine is broken down in the liver and the inhibiting action of Pristiq prevents the liver from doing its job in breaking Buprenorphine down. This is referred to as a "Side by Side Effect" of taking the two drugs at the same time. It's sad to say, but a lot of Buprenorphine Certified Physicians are completely unaware of this. Pristiq is not the only drug that will do this. Others include (but not limited to) Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Luvox, Lexapro & Celexa are all SSRIs, and Pristiq is an SNRI as is Cymbalta. You should discuss your Suboxone and Pristiq treatment with a qualified physician that is knowledgeable in the pharmacology and side by side effects of these two drugs to determine if the benefits outweigh the disadvantages of taking these two drugs at the same time.
According to my psychiatrist, who prescribed me both medications, it is safe to use Focalin and Pristiq together.
doesn't work for me. Pristiq has caused horrible insomnia for me. I have tried Imovane- lucky to get 4 hours sleep, Zanax + valium together- maybe 5 hours broken sleep. Waiting to find something that works with Pristiq :(
Check with your doctor first.
It depends on many things: what you were taking Pristiq for in the first place, what dosage, what you've tried before, what side effects you suffered from with Pristiq, etc. The best alternative (as in, most equivalant switch) would be Cymbalta which is the only other approved SNRI (subtype of antidepressant that includes Effexor, Pristiq and Cymbalta). Effexor also, but Pristiq is the "upgraded" version of Effexor already (as Lexapro is the "upgraded" version of Celexa). Only a doctor can determine which is the best alternative for you.
