Mixing haloperidol (Haldol) and diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for intramuscular (IM) injection is generally not recommended without professional guidance, as it can lead to unpredictable effects and potential complications. Each medication has its own specific instructions for administration, and mixing them might alter their efficacy or increase the risk of adverse reactions. Always consult a healthcare professional or pharmacist before combining medications.
yes
Yes. You can mix haldol and ativan for an IM injection. It's done frequently done in situations of frank psychoses, like in an ER or psychiatric facility and can be referred to as "halivan." The effect is quite potent and the drugs should only be given by medical personnel with the proper credentials in a location where the patient can have proper monitoring.
benadryl is one of the popular medications to help treat hives, although im not sure about tylenol
Im not sure.. But I took like 175mg of benadryl and I got sleepy as s@%t.. not high but felt a little out of it :p
On the injection site? Sorry im confused.
we do not massage site after IM injection because it may cause underlying tissue damage
The combination can make you very drowsy. I found this first hand by taking just 0.5 mg Ativan and 5 mg Benadryl about 2 hours apart. I slept for 7 hours afterwards and still woke up a bit drousy. I try to avoid it as much as I can. If I get a skin rash (which is why I need Benadryk occasiunally) and already took Ativan that day, I will try first other methods (like an oatmeal bath or some topical meds).
Intramuscular injection involves placing the medication directly into the belly of a muscle.
