Nyquil contains a sedating antihistamine( doxylamine succinate) but an important fact it's the alcohol content in liquid formula contributes to extreme drowsiness in conjunction with doxylamine . By taking gel caps you still get sedating effects of nyquils but greatly avoid potential interaction of alcohol and diazepam.
