It is difficult to know whether a dog has a fever or not. A dry nose does not indicate fever. The most accurate indicator of a fever in a dog is the old fashioned thermometer up the rear.
However, one dose of aspirin will not harm your dog and may make it more comfortable while waiting for your vet appt.
A typical aspirin dose is 5 to 10 mg per pound (10 to 20 mg/kg) twice daily for dogs. Always give with food.
Aspirin can reduce fever and is an analgesic. If you have tonsillitis, that might make you a little more comfortable so long as it does not upset your stomach or interact badly with any other drugs you are taking. Do not give aspirin to a child because of the potential to cause Reye's syndrome (see link).

I'd check with your vet first, aspirin can upset the stomach, not all antbiotics will agree with pets, if your vet gave you the amoxicillin did they mention to give aspirin also? Aspirin not recommended by your vet can be fatal to your dog. Never ever give aspirin made for human consumption to your dogs.
No you can't give it aspirin because it would choke wait until 1 year or 2 and then you could give it aspirin.
