You should avoid marijuana and other drugs when taking medications.

Marijuana forces the heart to beat faster, pumping blood around your body quicker. This means medication isn't absorbed as well as it should be.

Tobacco, however, has no proven negative effects against medication, however it won't help if the medication you are taking is to treat something caused by tobacco (ie sore throats, heart palpitations, etc).
