A capsule containing spansules are several dose release (each different color of a bead reflects when the drug will be released). Typically, there is an immediate release of drug to get your plasma concentration in therapeutic range. Then, over time, the film coating on the other spansules are slowly eroding away (the thickness of film coating will vary the release of drug). Then, the moderately coated beads will release the drug and later, the thicker coating bead will release the last dose.
