Taking Xanax and Pristiq together may result in increased side effects such as

dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating, as well as some impairment in thinking and judgment. They may also have increased CNS and respiratory depressant effects.

Different people may react to taking them together in different ways.

Here are some personal experiences:

  • I take 2mg xanax and a 50 mg pristiq everyday, and have been doing so for about 9 months.
  • NOT ALWAYS. You have to be extremely careful. I ended up in the emergency room after my first dose of pristiq and had been on .5 mgs./day of Xanax for a couple of years with severe breathing problems, vomiting and almost loss consciousness. If you go on to any of the drug interaction checkers, you'll find that they can enhanced CNS and respiratory depressant qualities when taken together. BE CAREFUL. My situation was very dangerous and if the ambulance hadn't arrived with oxygen when it did, I might not be here.
