There are two drug interactions between lexapro and oxycodone. The first is synergetic CNS depression. Both drugs depress the central nervous system and when you take them together they act in a synergetic manner. This means that heart rate, breathing, thought process, will all slow down. Also, there is some evidence to say that when oxycodone is taken with antiDs there is a possibility of serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome happens when the brain is flooded with serotonin and it is unable to get rid of it. SS is a potentially fatal condition, but to ease any concerns, it is very unlikely that it will occur at theraputic doses of both drugs take together. For that matter, even if you abused both it is still very unlikely. If you have any worries about serotonin syndrome you can research it on the internet (there is a ton of info on it). To conclude, it is, for the most part, a safe combination. CAUTION! If you abuse either medications or take large doses these side effects will be worse and can be life threatening.
