It depends. Some forms of tramadol already have acetaminophen in them. It is important that you check to be sure your prescription does not already have acetaminophen in it. If your prescription for tramadol is only tramadol, and you are absolutely certain there is no acetaminophen in it, then yes, they work well together. However if you are in doubt or are not absolutely sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.

This is contraindicated. Taking tramadol with SSRI antidepressants can cause serious and even life threatening side effects. You can develop something called Serotonin Syndrome, which can cause you to hallucinate or even go into a coma. You can have tremors, rigid muscles, sudden rise in body temperature which can lead to death, racing heartbeat, sweating, confusion, and inability to urinate.
