You can take Loritab and Xanax together, if your health care professional prescribes them. It is possibly one of the safer "Benzo"/opiate-CNS depressant/pain killer mixes. The risk the combination carries is they both cause respiratory depression (make your breathing more shallow). The stronger they are (the higher the dosage) affects the level of lung depression they may cause. Always be extremely careful and ask your Pharmacist for information about the effects and signs to watch for re: side effects.

This is not recommended. Both of these drugs have sedating effects. Taking more than one sedating drug together can make you become confused, pass out, and even have trouble breathing. These are also both habit forming and controlled substances. It is best not to mix drugs which are classified as controlled because they are more dangerous and can end up harming you if you play around with them.
