Wear a solid shoe with a stiff sole to protect the injured toe and keep it stable. Avoid shoes that put pressure on the toe. As long as you are careful, you should not need crutches for a sprained toe.
I feel you, literally. I had a really bad bruised foot, and then I irratated it on monday and then on Tuesday I went to the ER. Next day, I went to the foot doctor and It was fractured/ broken. I am now on crutches with a boot for a month. So if I were you, I would go to the doctor and get it checked out. Then probably you will get crutches. My foot was still bruised 3 weeks later.
no as long as you have a cast
I recently kicked this wall (3 weeks ago) and split my toe open. It hurts very bad to put all my weight on it and if i barely stub it it reopens and hurts very bad. its kinda infected (i wont go into detail because idk if u r queesy) but i would recommend crutches for a big toe injury. I just dont like not being able to do things. your big toe is like the foundation for walking and the sooner healed the better
If it is sore it is either just sore, bruised, sprained or broken.
Yes, toes can be sprained. A toe sprain occurs when the ligaments connecting the bones in the toe become overstretched or torn due to injury or trauma. Symptoms may include pain, swelling, bruising, and difficulty moving the toe. Treatment usually involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation.
it depends what toe /toes you break.....most time they will to help keep weight off it.
I broke my toe yesterday, went to A&E, got it taped up and on crutches. It's a spiral fracture in the toe next to the big toe. How can I shower/wash without damaging it more? I don't want to impede the healing as I need it to be healed in time for my holiday and it's already unlikely if that will happen.
No. Sprains typically require little more than bracing and time to heal.
Because you can break your toe! I have been playing soccer since I was 6, everytime I kicked with my toe I either sprained/broke it or got pulled out of the next 2 games.
TTWB stands for toe touch weight bearing. It means using crutches in such a way that the toe can touch the floor, but bears no weight.
I really want some crutches and i havent done anything to my leg/foot but if it hurts that bad try buy some off maybe eBay or if u no somone who has broke their foot/leg before and still have their crutches ask them if u can keep them :) glad i could help
Not always, your toe is purple because you have broken blood vessels in your toe and the blood has leaked out into your tissue. Your body will absorb this spilled blood in time and you can watch your toe turn all kinds of colors during this process. To see if you have indeed broken a bone and not sprained it, you need to have an x-ray.
