It is neither. It is a seizure medicine.

Just to let every one know I took a little more than is prescribed for a couple days and had a quick cup done on my urine by house manager. There were very strong positive lines for benzodiazepines. Let anyone trying to do one of those stupid cup tests with the positive negative lines know you are taking Neurontins. Then ask for a REAL DRUG TEST, done at a LABRATORY

While I am not a doctor, pharmacist or even work in the medical field, I would say that this drug also know as nuerontin would not show up in a drug test. I do not believe it is a scheduled narcotic. So I don't believe it would show up in a routine drug test. Although there may be a specific test to find the amount of concentration of that drug in your blood

Gabapentin is the generic name for Neuortin, its used for nerve pain or damage its not considered a controlled substance, so I'm not sure it even would show up
