I am interested in hearing the story of the individual posting this question. We in the last 6 weeks nearly lost a dear friend with ARDS following routine lysis of post colectomy adhesions. Our friend was treated with aggressive chemo and radiation prior to a partial colectomy 3 years ago. She currently is free of any evidence of residual colon cancer. Age under 50.

An adhesion is scar tissue usually caused by in infection or surgical procedures of the abdominopelvic region or some other type of trauma. Adhesions can occur elsewhere, but they cause the most problems in the belly.
