No It doesnt. It is simply tizanidine.
No, tizanidine also known as Zanaflex, does not have the same effect as Xanax. Zanaflex is a muscle relaxer which is frequently used to treat the spasms of multiple sclerosis. Xanax is a benzodiazepine which is used to treat anxiety disorders.
Zanaflex is a short-acting muscle relaxer.
zanaflex(tizanidine) only comes in tablets and capsules
Acorda Theurapeutics is one manufacturer
Tizanidine (Zanaflex) was approved by the FDA on December 3, 1996.
I have taken both by themselves, and I have also mixed large quantity's of the two on several occasions. From my experience there is no real health dangers, depending on ones body and how they affect you individually. They just seem to mend together and eventually the zanaflex will over takes the xanax and drowsiness sets in. I would not advise mixing them at the beginning of a day or if you to plan to operate any machinery or drive a motorized vehicle. Alcohol will extremely intensify effects so take caution.
