You won't want to eat, and probably will have severe diarrhea, but having food (a well rounded diet) pass through your system will speed the elimination process. Also, weening down your dose over time is better for your mind and body withdrawal symptoms. But, SWIM has found that weening down over two weeks followed by cold-turkey abstinence is best, fastest way through the very unpleasant process. At first SWIM likes to drink lots of Gatorade (for electrolytes; diarrhea dehydrates you by the way - and can cause death or perm. damage if chronic and severe enough) and soups with lots of toast / crackers. Get some "psyllium husk fiber" better known as metamucil fiber suplement. Now, this may seem counter-intuitive because it makes your bowel movements more regular; psyllium is muscilagenous and thus soaks up liquid in the gastrointestinal tract. This will help make diarrhea less severe. Don't over do psyllium just read directions. A great "pro-biotic" food product is "Kefir," it is like yogurt but drinkable and contains 10 diffrerent strains of beneficial flora or intestinal bacteria (yogurt only has 1 to 3 in most cases). You need to repopulate the G.I. tract with good microbes after all the toxic withdrawal chemicals have denuded the natural balance of your body. One caviat for the dairy though; Do Not Start this kefir until the withdrawal and diarhea are over or the dairy will make your a@s burn. Do this process in step and be patient. Always keep wits about and maintain psychological control; withdrawals can cause some serious acute mental disorder, another reason why weening down is better. restoring balance is key.
