Getting lost work depends on the system and version of Pages you are using. If you are using Mtn Lion with the latest version of Pages, then you can easily get back your work if you saved it once. After you save it, changes are saved automatically or when you save a version. If you never saved your work and the Mac quit, probably the work was lost. However if you saved your work, or did not shut down Pages, it is probably recoverable. Open the file in Pages. The last version will open. If you want an earlier version, go to FILE, REVERT. The famous Mac Time Machine will start and you can go back to a version you want to use. As far as I can see, changes saved follow the amount of work that would be in the UNDO function.
