How do you administer pills rectally?

Hopefully with the approval of your doctor. That being said, gather the following supplies:

1 jar of pure organic coconut oil, virgin if possible

Mortar and Pestle

**if unavailable, have some heavy duty Ziploc freezer bags ready

***have a coffee cup ready as well

One small or medium mixing bowl, material is not important

One small pot, such as 1 qt

Saran wrap

***in addition you can also get Reynold's but it's not required

Directions:

*Fill the small pot with enough water to cover the bottom and be about 2" deep. Set stove on medium high and bring just up to boiling

*While water is heating, grind your D.O.C. into a powder using mortar & pestle.

Alternative--place pill(s) inside Ziploc bag, towards the bottom since you don't want any accidental spills. Hold coffee cup at an angle and use the sides to roll repeatedly over the pill(s), first crushing then grinding to a powder. Once the powder is free of any chunks, shake bag to collect all powder at the bottom. Cut bag in two with scissors, if you try to shake it out through the famed zipper tops, you will wind up a very sad person.

*Put a small amount of coconut oil (no more than 1 tablespoon) into mixing bowl and hold the bowl over the steam from the boiling water, melting the coconut oil into a liquid state

*Once the oil looks like, well, oil...you can add the powdered pill to the oil. Note that this will not completely dissolve, so stay calm.

*Place mixing bowl in the freezer, the mix will harden and become the consistency of very firm butter. This will occur in about 10 minutes, depending on your freezer

Alternative--If making a Reynold's mold (see below), skip this step and instead, leave the mixing bowl on the counter

*While the mix is hardening, cut a generous piece of Saran wrap and lay it flat on countertop

Alternative--Cut off several pieces of Reynold's, each piece can be approximately 3" x 3" or a bit more, having several sheets trumps having a few large sheets.

--Mold Reynold's around your index finger, leaving a hollow middle

--Gently line the middle with one sheet of cling wrap, otherwise your mix will run throughout the mold and be useless

--Slide the mix into the mold slowly and gingerly, the mix should be getting opaque and somewhat slushy at this time. If the mix is still clear and oily, let it sit and solidify a bit. Press gently down on mix, causing it to compact in the mold

--Place this carefully in the freezer until it hardens, 15 minutes is a good estimate

*Remove bowl from freezer, transfer contents onto Saran wrap. Fold saran wrap to enclose the product and keep it all together

*Roll the Saran wrap one side against another, your mix should be begining to soften by now. It is similar to rolling (ahem!) your own cigarette ;)

*Shape the mix so it resembles a bullet, the sloped and rounded top is crucial for easy insertion and the flat bottom is crucial for optimum absorption without leakage

*Place this back in the freezer being careful to avoid potential misshaping due to crushing or by carelessly tossing it in. Unless you really enjoyed the shaping exercise, then by all means, have fun

*Let it harden into the desired shape, once again for possibly 10 minutes

*It is ready when it has the really firm butter consistency, but easily melts at body temp, so handle it sparingly before insertion.

Always wash your hands before and after administering

Always check with your doctor (wink) before starting any type of treatment for your condition

BE SAFE--RECTAL IS HIGHLY EFFECTIVE AND IF DONE FOOLISHLY CAN REALLY REALLY F*CK YOU UP....DANGEROUS AND EVEN LETHAL COMPLICATIONS FROM OVERDOSING ARE COMMON, SO ALWAYS START WITH A SMALL DOSE TO TEST THE WATERS.

***as a very general rule, think of whatever dose you currently take by mouth and multiply by four. The bioavailability of most medications when taken orally is ridiculously low...around 20-25%. The bioavailability of the same medication when given orally is 95-100%.

it depends on what kind of medication it is, if its to treat something in the rectal area, it could be oral. but rectal typically means it is put into your anus. (in other words, up your rump)
