To get off klonopin you MUST taper SLOWLY. That is most important. Probably go about 10% every 10 days or so. I did my taper starting a 2mg daily divided into 4 doses of .5. Then I dropped .25 off of a dose every 10 days. This was a little faster than 10% but I hated this pill :P. Then I dropped another .125 every ten days. Now I was at .5 total @ .125x4 every day. Here is the trick: When @ .5 total one MUST go extra slowly because of the 10% rule I stated before. But since the pills are too small to dry cut anymore. You must use water titration to dilute the dose. So you need a graudated cylinder that measures 250mL. Then take every dose my crushing it up and putting it in a blender with the water. Then spin the blender for 30 secs to achieve suspension. Before the drug settles to the bottom measure out your daily dose. I chose to take off 10ml a day 240, 230 and so on and eventually when that got too hard I went to 5mL a day. This may take a couple of months but it is soooo much easier than hurrying to the finish line and getting punished by serious withdrawal. Water method does not eliminate withdrawal it just minimizes the intensity as much as it could be minimized. It took me about 2 months to get from 2mg to .5mg. Then another 3 months to get from .5 to 0mg. At the end I did experience some withdrawal (mostly mental anxiety, my original condition) but I could still go about my life. I wasnt pleasant, but it wasnt painful.
Klonopin and Xanax are not opiates, so, they will do nothing to alleviate the symptoms of heroin withdrawal. Only another opiate can alleviate the symptoms of heroin withdrawal.
Yes, Klonopin (clonazepam) withdrawal can potentially cause hives as part of its withdrawal symptoms. Discontinuing benzodiazepines like Klonopin may lead to a range of physical and psychological symptoms, including anxiety, irritability, and skin reactions such as hives. If someone experiences hives during withdrawal, they should consult a healthcare professional for guidance and management.
Valium (diazepam) can help manage withdrawal symptoms from Klonopin (clonazepam) due to its similar benzodiazepine properties, but it is not a guaranteed solution for everyone. While it may ease the process, tapering off Klonopin should be done under medical supervision to ensure safety and effectiveness. It's important to consult a healthcare professional for a personalized withdrawal plan.
I suppose so, if you take massive doses of them, but not if you're taking a normal dose. I was prescribed klonopin for alcohol withdrawal, while I was taking Suboxone.
It's crucial to consult a healthcare professional for any medication adjustments, especially when transitioning off substances like fentanyl. Klonopin (clonazepam) is sometimes used to manage withdrawal symptoms, but the appropriate dosage can vary significantly based on individual circumstances, including the severity of dependence and personal health factors. Never self-medicate or adjust dosages without professional guidance, as this can lead to serious health risks.
I kicked Opiates in jail. Thank god, they were giving me Klonopin, which is very similar to Valium. I was taking 2mg of Klonopin 3X a day to stave off some of the restlessness assoiciated with withdrawal. In Valium terms, that would be 10mg of Valium 3X a day. Hope that answers your question.
Yes. Klonopin is widely used to alleviate opiate withdrawal symptoms. It is reportedly very helpful in that regard. Otherwise, Klonopin is commonly used for treatment of hypertension, and sometimes for mild anxiety.
Depakote (valproate) and trazodone are not specifically indicated for managing withdrawals from Klonopin (clonazepam), a benzodiazepine. Depakote is primarily used for mood stabilization and seizure disorders, while trazodone is an antidepressant often used for insomnia. However, some healthcare providers might prescribe these medications off-label to help alleviate certain withdrawal symptoms, such as anxiety or insomnia. It's essential to consult a healthcare professional for tailored advice and management of withdrawal symptoms.
A person who weighs 50 pounds should not be taking Klonopin without be advised to do so by a doctor. Taking Klonopin can harm a person when it is not dosed properly.
To safely discontinue Klonopin (clonazepam), it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional. They may recommend a gradual tapering schedule to reduce the dosage slowly, minimizing withdrawal symptoms and ensuring safety. Never stop taking Klonopin abruptly without medical guidance, as this can lead to serious complications. Always follow your doctor's instructions throughout the process.
Neither. Clonazepam (Klonopin) or diazepam (Valium) would be far superior. See a psychiatrist. He/she can guide you through this tough time.
Klonopin is classified as a benzodiazepine (benzo).1 While benzos do help with opiate withdrawals, they are just as addictive. Try not to take them on a daily basis, or you run the risk of replacing one habit with another. Actually, it is safer to take Suboxone rather than a benzo every day. That is just my opinion. This is mainly because you can get very high on benzos while (as I am sure you know) Suboxone has a "ceiling" effect," which means that you can't really get high off of it.
