Oral test only pick up a couple days worth of residue. The simple answer is, don't do drugs. If you are going to do the anyway, stop for at least a week if you want a clean test. The typical swab test traces 24-48 hours, but a week will be on the safe side.

I'm guessing you are referring to marijuana? In that case, it depends on how often you use. I passed an oral drug test 2 days after smoking. I did it by taking 2-3 500mg niacin pills each night and drinking a lot of water. In addition, if you exercise vigorously, take warm showers/baths, and sweat a lot then you have a significantly higher chance of passing your drug test.
