Nothing. The company Biomet has created a product that becomes landfill very quickly.

Yes, there are bone growth stimulators available for the ankle, usually in the form of external devices that use electrical or ultrasound mechanisms to promote bone healing and growth. These devices are used to aid in the healing of fractures, fusion procedures, or other bone-related conditions in the ankle. You should consult with your healthcare provider to determine if a bone growth stimulator is appropriate for your specific situation.

I have had one for 6 years...Love it!
The weight of a Biomet knee replacement appliance can vary depending on the specific model and components used, but typically, a complete knee implant system weighs around 1 to 2 pounds (450 to 900 grams). The weight includes the femoral component, tibial component, and any additional hardware. For precise measurements, it's best to consult the product specifications provided by Biomet or the surgeon.
Yes! I had a Knee replacement in Feb. 2007 and have been in pain ever since. I called the sergeon's office and they said there was no recall on Biomet replacement knees. I have gone to another orthopedic sergeon and he tells me that from X-Rays he has taken that the knee is loose in my leg. I would like to know if mine is the only case like this or if this common. Their website clearly states: "All OrthoPak® Bone Growth Stimulator Systems are designed to deliver 270 days of continuous therapeutic treatment for 24 hours per day. The recommended daily therapeutic treatment is continuous for 24 hours. Federal Law (U.S.A.) restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician. Rx Only - Prescription Only - Single Patient Use Only - Do Not Reuse." Obviously the FDA imposes the above restrictions and any attempt to reset the device so that it could be used by someone else would be a violation of the same Federal Law that makes it illegal to give your prescription drugs to someone else.
Lots of manufacturers makes these, the big names are DePuy, Biomet, Zimmer, Smith & Nephew, Stryker, Wright Medical, Exactech.
Hi, I don't know if they have been recalled yet so if you find out please let me know. My knee sucks. It hurts all the time, I get allot of fluid build up, and its so loose I can move my lower leg back and forth 3/4" and it makes a great deal of noise. I hope its recalled because if this is the best they have to offer they should stop offering it. I have had 26 surgeries now most being on my knees. 13 right and 8 left. I now have to have my left knee repaired and need to find out if there any mechanical problems associated with the Biomet Vanguard Knee.
