First stop taking the Lipitor. Could be interaction with other meds. Don't confuse the pain with neuropathy. Diabetics not under control can wreck havoc with your health.

Doctors are hell bent on lowering your blood pressure and cholesterol to desired levels. This is basically in your best interest. But it can be fatal in itself. My pain was un bearable and we thought it was Neuropathy Until I quit taking Lipitor. The pain subsided in two days but I am getting better every day. Learned to walk again and treat my health with diet and exercise. New doctor for my primary care.

Why does grapefruit react with lipitor?

Grapefruit interacts with Lipitor (atorvastatin) because it contains compounds called furanocoumarins that inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme in the liver and intestines. This enzyme is responsible for metabolizing many medications, including Lipitor. When grapefruit is consumed, it can lead to higher levels of the drug in the bloodstream, increasing the risk of side effects and potential toxicity. Therefore, it's generally advised to avoid grapefruit while taking Lipitor.
